Is this group right for your daughter?
This program suits girls who could use some extra support for the following:
Find it hard to join a conversation or a group of friends
Feel left out or on the outer at school
Get caught up in friendship conflict, teasing or gossip
Need help navigating group chats, gaming or social media
Know what a good friend looks like but struggle to actually do it in the moment
Why friendships get harder around this age
Something shifts for a lot of girls around this age group. Friendship groups that felt solid, begin to shift. Conversations get less literal and more about tone, timing and unspoken rules. A big chunk of social interaction moves into group chats and digital communication, which comes with its own etiquette that no one really teaches.
Topics Covered
Starting and maintaining conversations
Making and keeping friends
Handling teasing, rumours and gossip
Managing difficult feelings
Building resilience
Navigating puberty and changing friendship groups
Staying safe and communicating online
Different skills and topics are introduced each week. At the end of each session, a homework task is given to support your daughter in developing and applying these skills between weekly groups.
Internet safety for pre-teen + teen girls
A lot of pre-teen + teen friendship happens in group chats, games and social media now, and a lot of the conflict does too. We cover how to spot when an online situation isn't safe, how to handle a blow up in a group chat.
This isn't a separate module bolted onto the program, it comes up naturally alongside the rest of the group work, because for most girls this age, online and offline friendships are the same friendships.

Yes. The program does cover online communication including internet safety. This includes navigating group chats and interpreting digital communication. We also build situational awareness around different social media platforms, online posting, and digital footprints to support girls to engage safely and responsibly.
-
That's a common reason families join. The group is small and supportive and sessions are built so every girl can take part at her own pace and build the confidence to implement these skills.
